Dr. Melissa Ocariz was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Dr. Ocariz received her bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Tulane University in 2011. After graduating she worked at a pharmaceutical research facility for 3 years before deciding to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine. Dr. Ocariz studied veterinary medicine at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and finished her clinical year at Colorado State University. She received her doctorate of veterinary medicine in 2019. Her professional interests include preventative medicine, geriatric care, dentistry, ophthalmology, and pain management.
In her free time Dr. Ocariz enjoys rock climbing, hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and spending time with her family. She has two rescue dogs, Layla and Leroy, as well as two pet rats, Juniper and Jasmine.
