Dr. Lindsey Kaplan

Growing up in Southern California, Lindsey spent her childhood riding horses and dirt bikes through the Santa Monica Mountains, raising and showing pygmy goats at the county fair, and rehabilitating native wildlife and marine mammals.

While earning her Master’s of Environmental Science and Management from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Lindsey traveled through Chile analyzing salmon aquaculture for her Master’s thesis, South Africa studying Elephant herd migration and predator/prey dynamics, and Santa Barbara researching urban groundwater impacts on the local ecosystem. While she loved the research side of conservation, Lindsey soon realized that she wanted to have a more direct and immediate impact on the animals she studied. She traded the sandy beaches of Santa Barbara for the snow-capped mountains of Colorado where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. Lindsey is Fear Free Certified and has a strong interest in pain management.

In her free time, Lindsey enjoys aerial acrobatics, cake decorating, interior design, wood working, hiking with friends and family, snuggling up with her two giant Maine Coons (Fezzik and Nox), and making animal-butt themed greeting cards for her aptly named Etsy store, FantASStic Beasts!
