After living in many different states all along the East Coast as a kid, Chelsea Mendola moved to Illinois to attend the University of Illinois, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. She continued her education at the University of Florida, where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. Throughout her time in veterinary school, she worked as a veterinary assistant for a busy equine sports medicine practice. She has always had a love for horses and had grown up wanting to be an equine vet. Her clinical rotations in veterinary school sparked her passion for small animal medicine and led her to change her career path.
After spending part of her clinical years at CSU’s veterinary school, she fell in love with Colorado and the mountains and decided to move cross-country once again. She made the move with her boyfriend and their two animals: a lovable mutt named Jam and a sweet orange tabby named Ronald. She has spent the past few years at a small animal exclusive practice where she has continued to foster her passions for soft tissue surgery, oncology, and urgent care. In her spare time, Dr. Mendola spends most of her time in the beautiful Colorado mountains either hiking or skiing.
