Dr. Owen is a dual American-Australian citizen and has practiced small animal medicine for several years in both Australia and the US. While in Australia, she earned her veterinary degree at Murdoch University and worked at one of the largest veterinary clinics in Western Australia, focusing on small animal medicine and surgery.
She is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and is a certified Cat Friendly Veterinarian. Her other special interests include small animal dentistry and geriatrics, in particular preventative care and chronic pain relief.
While in Australia, Dr. Owen spent time in Tasmania working with the endangered Tasmanian devil, as well as catching and releasing the Australian duck-billed platypus for species monitoring and data collection; some of Dr. Owen's patients were exotic wildlife such as kangaroo, cockatoos, and carpet pythons.
Dr. Owen is thrilled to have the privilege of helping and healing Denver’s pets and getting to know their owners. When she is not at the clinic, she enjoys skiing, hiking, meditation, being outdoors and searching for a great cup of coffee.
